I’m a software engineer at Resultados Digitais (RD), a Brazil tech company, and I complete six years since I boarded this rocket. When I join RD in April 2014, the company had almost 60 employes, 200 customers, and a small workspace, like almost every startup.
I’ve accepted the challenge because of the challenges of joining a small team, with amazing colleagues, the opportunity to discover and delivered fast customer success was the motivation that I was searching at that moment of my career.
Six years later my life changed a lot. I’m now a father. And I’m still here.
I grew up much during this time and I’m still here because I have the opportunity to keep growing up. The challenges changed but our culture code, created by the company, represents all the values that I expect in my career. These values move all the company and move us to deliver success, as a software engineer or as part of our major year event, RD Summit, as staff to deliver an amazing event.
As a software engineer, the challenges I want to solve are a big deal.
At the same time, I wanted to deliver success to the company, I wanted to learn and test new things. This is what motivates almost every software engineer, here isn’t different, what I learned at this journey was:
We need to be solving the right problem.
We always have problems to solve, but you could find what kind of problem you want to resolve, and then, resolve this problem with excellence.
I learned to enjoy the path instead of just the finished result. I learned that I need to part of the right team, solving the right problem. I’m still learning how to be more human and accessible. This leads us to the main goal of our company:
People over projects!
When a company thinks in People over projects, this enables each engineer to be in the right place all the time. With that in my six years at RD, I helped deliver success and increase our amount of customers by 10000%.
